Fall 2011 Offering of Computing for Good

August 19, 2011
by

This fall, Jim Foley and I will be teaching the Computing for Good course.   C4G is offered as a section of CS 4911 Senior Design and satisfies the capstone requirement for both the CS undergraduate degree and the Computational Media undergraduate degree.  C4G is also cross-listed as a graduate level course.  We especially encourage new MS students with an interest in computing for good.  Projects from the course can often be continued and form the basis for an MS project or thesis.

On tap for this fall are projects with the Carter Center on mental health in Liberia, CARE on economic development in the developing world, the Atlanta Union Mission on homelessness, the Atlanta Chapter of the ALS Foundation on equipment loans to those with ALS, and Elizabeth’s Canvas on creativity support for cancer patients.  Stay tuned for a complete list.
