ZAP Asthma Simulation
Pediatric asthma is the most common chronic childhood disease in the United States. Pediatric asthma rate is known to be higher within the lower socio-economic status population in urban areas. In particular, Atlanta is one of the most challenging cities for asthmatic patients due to social and environmental factors. Therefore, the ZAP Asthma Consortium in Atlanta provides a community service to ensure that children with asthma achieve their health and learning potential – http://zapasthma.org.
For our C4G class project, Dr. Rosa Arriaga introduced the ZAP Asthma Simulation that needs to be updated – http://www.peachtreelearning.com. The project aims to create a sustainable entertaining game that effectively informs the player on the various aspects of asthma and how to deal with it in everyday life while also creating an enjoyable learning experience.
